Service Projects

"SERVICE ABOVE SELF"

Since 1922, the Rotary Club of San Rafael’s commitment to Service Above Self has been channeled through Rotary's four Avenues of Service, which form the foundation of our club's activities.

Community Service

Community Service projects and activities of our club aim to improve life in San Rafael and the broader Marin County community. Our community service projects include our ongoing role with the Rotary
of San Rafael Manor senior housing complex; our annual Blood Drive; our Teachers' Mini-Grants Program; and many others.

International Service

Our club's International Service efforts seek to promote world understanding and peace. Through the Rotary Foundation, our members' contributions and volunteer activities include participation in the PolioPlus efforts to erradicate polio worldwide; the ShelterBox disaster relief program; exchange activities including Ambassadorial and Peace Scholarships and the Group Study Exchange program.  In addition, since 1972 our club has conducted an annual high school summer exchange program with the Rotary Club of Utsunomiya in Tochigi Province in Japan.

Vocational Service

Vocational Service involves our club's members serving others through their professions and aspiring to the high ethical standards embodied in Rotary's Four Way Test.  As business leaders, we Rotarians share skills and expertise through our vocations, and hope to inspire others in the process.

Club Service

Club Service focuses on strengthening fellowship and ensuring the smooth functioning of our club itself.
